HAVANA RUMBA

Ramon dreams of Cuba’s musical past, while his son, Papito dreams of America. Like many Cubans, Papito leaves Cuba on a raft, to discover his fame and fortune.

Ramon, like so many Cubans, dreams of the day, his son will return. The audience are taken on a journey, from African slave fertility dances, the mambo, cha cha cha and son, to the thrilling contemporary music of Cuba today, the salsa, the timba and the reggaeton. The original music is performed live by Sonora La Calle, one of Cuba’s top bands.

A spectacular exuberance of a life-affirming show - it’s no wonder Kylie jumped onstage when she saw it. As they say in Havana, ‘Ay mamita!’
